In case users get an email claiming to be from Instagram, then they can easily check it, if the email is legitimate, by heading over to the “Emails from Instagram” option, that is available in the security settings of the app. Where users will find the complete list of every email that they have been received from the company over the last 14 days.

The company is releasing the update now and it might take some time to hit your device and appear in your settings. An Instagram spokeswoman said in a statement: “Bad actors are getting better at imitating emails from Instagram, and it is becoming increasingly difficult for people to distinguish between a genuine email and a fake one,” In order to check whether the new feature is functional for you or not, simply go to the site’s settings and tap on the Security tab. There, you will get to see the option of “Emails from Instagram.” One tab, labeled security, will display the list of emails the company sent you within the last 14 days related to the security of your account.
